DIY Mugs

I got my crafting on...again. I saw these mugs on pinterest and decided they would make perfect presents for some of the great people I've met through my job this summer.

I've seen the 'good morning handsome' one all over the internet and thought it was fitting to make as it is generally how I greet andrew every morning. the other three are all fitting towards what the recipients are doing come fall. one is (thankfully) staying in ottawa, one is heading off to tanzania to study and the last is heading home with big dreams to travel.

I am really happy with the way this mug turned out with the exception of the 'H.' I wish I hadn't made it so long at the bottom but what can you do!

these were as easy as crafting gets granted you have a steady hand (mine could be steadier.) I bought the mugs at wal-mart for $2.27 a piece and a pack of five sharpies for $3.00. a few hours later I had gotten the writing on there as close to perfect as it was going to be and I baked them in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

with school starting back up in less than two weeks my time for crafting will dwindle but I'm hoping my time for cooking will come back. after all, it's important to eat more than a bowl of cereal for dinner four out of seven nights in a week.

until next time, happy making!
