THE LEATHER SKIRT

I'm stepping way out of my comfort zone in a few ways today.  First, a leather skirt. I love the leather trend but couldn't ever find the piece that really screamed "buy me!" and second, a fashion post on this blog!

Skirt: Joe Fresh (similar) / Top: Zara (old, similar) / Booties: Target (old) / Watch: Fossil

Leather isn't something I usually gravitate towards, but I always admire the way others style it.  When I found this skirt on the sale rack at Joe Fresh for $5 (yes, $5!), I couldn't say no! Especially because of the the deep wine colour.  After a bit of thinking about what I could pair it with, I chose this three-quarter length striped top and booties to compliment the milder weather.

Paired with a chunky knit and tights going into winter, I think it could become a staple piece in my wardrobe.

The weather is supposed to hover around 12*C for the next few days, so more layers and long pants will definitely be part of my work wardrobe! Saying goodbye to the last of the warmth as we prepare for what's to come...

  1. i love your hair! is it your natural colour? (well, aside from the blonde tips).

i love the leather skirt. the leather trend is nice; i recently bought a pair of leggings with a pleather-like front/coating on the front part of the leggings.

i hope you do more fashion posts =).

it's so cold here today in toronto, the weather has dropped drastically. i can't believe i have to dress like it's winter in october!

    1. Thank you! My own hair colour is lighter but there are low lights in there to make it a bit darker.

The weather is definitely cooler and hovering around 10 degrees but we'll be in Toronto this weekend, too, so I'll hope the weather is nice for both of our sake!

  2. Ohhhh my gosh!
I cannot believe that you found that beautiful skirt at Joe Fresh, Emily. It looks so great on you! I love the top too. I am crazy about navy or royal blue, any blue:) Three-quarter sleeves are the best. You look great!
