Freshly Squeezed Lemonade

it's hot here. I mean really hot, so while at the grocery store tonight I decided to pick up some lemons and make some freshly squeezed lemonade. let me tell you, this is deliciously refreshing and simple to make!

all you need is roughly six large lemons (2 cups of freshly squeezed juice), 12 cups of water and 2 1/2 cups of sugar!

cut your lemons in half and squeeze them. unfortunately I dont have a fancy juicer, which I may invest in, so I had to use my man power (after moving heavy items such as microwaves at work all day, my power was on the weak side so I used a fork to help me along). after squeezing the lemons, I filled my trusty jug with 12 cups of water, put a colander on top and poured the lemon juice through, filtering out the seeds. I like the pulp because it's just added flavour but no one wants seeds in their juice!

after that you just stir in 2 1/2 cups of sugar (or however much you'd like really, it all depends on the strength of your sweet tooth!), mix it up and pour yourself a glass.

my roommate was the first to try and after her thirteen hour work day, she exclaimed about how delicious it was!

success? I think so! next time I'll try slicing in some fresh strawberries or a few limes to mix it up.

happy making!
