SNOWSHOES + CHILL

I'm a bad Canadian. There! I said it! I really don't cope well with the cold or winter, but sometimes you've just gotta make the best of it. Today wasn't too cold (at least not by comparison to other days!) so we decided to layer up and head to Gatineau Park to go snowshoeing!

I can't even properly put in to words how peaceful and calming it is to walk through the woods. I was saying to Andrew on the way home that we're so lucky to live where we live. We have the perfect combination between city life and 'country' life, for lack of a better word. Sometimes I really miss Muskoka and all it has to offer, which I think is why I've come to terms with Ottawa being where we are. It's a happy medium between somewhere like Muskoka and a super busy city like Toronto.

I took the function over fashion route for today. When fashion and function come to a head I always think of John Mayer. Andrew and I saw John Mayer six years ago on Valentine's Day and Mr. Mayer himself was saying that he picked fashionable shoes over functional shoes and his feet were hurting as a result. Then of course, in true JM style, he sang a little "I chose fashion over functionnnn" jingle and it always comes back to me. Anyway, I got a little off track there...

What I'm Wearing / Scarf (old): Aerie (similar here and here) / Hat: Joe Fresh / Jacket (old): J.Crew (similar) / Boots: Sorel

If you get a chance to go snowshoeing, do it! It was so much fun! Winter arrived late so it may last until April...so I may as well get used to entertaining myself outside!
