HOLIDAY SPARKLE

Walking into the new year like...

This is probably my favourite post of 2016, and truthfully it's probably my last for the year! What a year 2016 has been. I committed to blogging more and saw this little space of mine grow. I met so many incredibly talented people this year and I've had a number of exciting opportunities come my way.

2016 had some big challenges, both in business and in my personal life. These are hurdles that help you grow and shape you into a stronger person. I have high hopes for the new year ahead as I set goals for myself. I will have the stereotypical resolutions like work-out more often, read more books, and eat better. But I'll also be setting some resolutions that will challenge me. I have a feeling that when I sit here at this time next year and look back on 2017, things will be a lot different...in the best way possible.

If I was going to be in Canada for New Year's Eve (I'll be on a beach down south!) I would totally be wearing this outfit. I actually feel magical when I'm wearing this skirt. It's one of those pieces in your wardrobe that makes you want to spin and twirl like you're on top of the world. I searched high and lo all over Ottawa to get my hands on this skirt and it was sold out everywhere. Conveniently enough I was heading to Toronto for the weekend so I called around to see if anywhere had it in stock. I was in luck--just one left in my size at the Yorkdale Le Chateau. Right then and there, magic happened. I paired my magical skirt with this Zara cross-over body suit (the body suit strikes again!) and a sparkly belt to pull the look together and add a bit of holiday flare.

A huge thank you to Cindy of Cindy Bekkedam Photography for shooting these photos with me at the Andaz hotel in the Byward Market in Ottawa. She is a dream to work with and so incredibly talented.

Are you a goal-setter, a planner or resolution maker? Do you have big plans for 2017 and beyond? I'd love to hear how you prepare for a new year and if you make any changes or set any goals to make the new year better than the last.

I hope you take some time for yourself this holiday season to rest, relax and recharge. It's a busy and stressful time of year and sometimes we forget about taking care of ourselves. Until 2017, happy holidays to all of you and all the best for the start of a brand new year! xo
