It's been a while since there has been any sign of life around these parts! You know that feeling when life is going 1000 miles a minute and all of a sudden you're hit with all of the things that fell to the bottom of  your to-do list? Been there, done that! But for now I'm back with some really exciting posts lined up for you! After a slow (and bitterly cold winter) I couldn't be happier that the summer weather is around the corner!

As a solar-powered person (is that a thing? I'm making it one!) the sun charges my batteries and gets me inspired and moving. Do you want to know what else charge my batteries? Truly kind, humble, talented people, like Cindy of Cindy Bekkedam Photography who took these snaps for me! We spent a few hours wandering through the Byward Market in Ottawa snapping photos and eating gelato, discovering what is at our fingertips in the heart of this city.

With Canada turning 150 this year, I couldn't be more excited to be in the nation's capital for the celebrations! We've got friends from different parts of the province, heck--parts of the country--coming to stay with us, so you better believe I'm already planning what to do and most importantly, what I'm going to wear! This ruffle sleeve t-shirt from Joe Fresh is a top contender. The red and white stripes are a perfect nod to the truth north, strong and free. At a reasonable price of $19, it's the perfect addition to your wardrobe, whether you'll be wearing it for Canada's big birthday or not.

I've been hunting for a great pair of white denim to add to my wardrobe this season. I've got a very-well loved pair by Rachel Roy but I wanted to add a second pair since I frequently wear white denim to work. These white skinny jeans with a frayed hem are from Dynamite and a total steal with a price tag of $49.95. I sized up and am now regretting it since they do stretch - so don't be deterred at first if you're regular size feels a bit tight. They certainly have a bit of give and will stretch!

Are you already planning your Canada Day (or 4th of July) festivities and picking out the perfect patriotic outfit? I love any reason to get dressed up for an occasion but I can't be the only one!

Outfit details: Dynamite white denim with frayed hem | Joe Fresh striped ruffle sleeve tee | Aldo flats from fall 2016 (but these are very similar!) | Coach Rogue 25 c/o Coach | Fossil sunglasses from an outlet in Florida (but these are very similar!)
