SUNDAY MORNING

Ah, the weekend. We all live for it, especially after a really long week. The worst part is that it wasn't a long work week since Monday was a holiday, but it was a really long weather week. Last weekend we faced -40*c temperatures, on Tuesday we got a record 50cm of snowfall in one day, and yesterday it rained and was 7*c.  I'm sure I'm not the only one itching for spring to stay.

So given today was Sunday (my favourite day of the week!) and we had no where to be, we decided to head to a coffee shop to start the day. Nothing says good morning like a spicy chai latte and a sweet treat!

Here's a life hack I learned a few weeks ago: wearing colours can really boost your mood. Turns out my work week apparel is a lot of grey, black, and white. I love neutrals, but I found this blush short jacket at H&M and instantly fell in love. I fell even more in love with it when I realized that I felt like I had a bit more pep in my step when wearing it.

Sometimes a simple pick-me-up can help beat the winter blues in more ways than one. This week was a splash of colour, a handcrafted chai latte, and a fresh hair cut.

My adorable purse was a birthday gift from my sister and a really fun way to mix things up! I'm also really loving my Artizia blanket scarf that was a Christmas gift from Andrew's mom. Although they are a bit on the pricier side, the lightweight fabric and versatility makes them a wardrobe staple in my eyes.

My fingers are crossed spring is on the way soon. We had avoided pretty much any form of winter until Tuesday's storm passed through and now the snowbanks are twice my height! At the very least the lighter colours can start to be incorporated into my wardrobe, but I can't do much about the excessive layering until we see signs of positive temperatures.

How do you get through the last leg of winter? Any tips or tricks to make the home run to spring a little bit easier? I'd love to know!
